Spidoux's most notable physical attribute is the vibrant rosebud coloration of its abdomen, which resembles the look of a Pecha Berry. Baby yellow spots decorate the space around its spinneret in an attempt to further sell this resemblance. Spidoux are not born with these markings, but rather gain them in places where their flesh has regenerated after being snacked from. Due to the nature of their disguise, it's rare to find a Spidoux without these spots. A small, jagged hole near the base of the body peaks into Spidoux's "pit" and reveals its face, consisting of a set of deep pink eyes and tiny matching eyebrows. It uses tiny green pincers surrounding its mouth to devour berries and hook on to the stem that remains. Its six green lance-shaped legs can be retracted into the face cavity once hooked on to a stem, allowing the limbs to take on the appearance of leaves. While hanging from a stem, Spidoux has mastered making subtle movements in an effort to match how a hanging berry would be naturally buffeted by the wind.
If a feeding Pokémon does bite into the abdomen, the injured Spidoux may yet recover - the venom glands and other nonessential organs are stored near the rear, so the Pokémon may may able to scuttle away and recover over an extended period of time.
Gender Differences[]
Spidoux have no gender difference.
Behavior[]
An ambush predator, Spidoux will hide itself among berry bushes with its abdomen facing outward; the eyes, fangs, and legs are hidden against the branches. When a small Pokémon comes along to feed, the Spidoux will strike. Due to its extremely slow metabolism, Spidoux only needs to eat every few months - in the meantime they will hide and recover from battles or search for a new bush.
Habitat[]
Spidoux can be found in any areas where Pecha berries are found, often preferring temperate climates and midrange elevations.
