Roadren are lean birds with wide, taloned feet. Their plumage is a mixture of different greys, with splashes of yellow feathers around the chest, and red markings near the eyes. Roadren have dark crests of feathers on their heads and sharp, almost twisted beaks. Roadren, unlike many birds, also have teeth. Short fangs protrude upwards from their beaks.
Roadren have long tail feathers, and shorter wings, which they generally keep tucked. They are streamlined overall, reducing drag and maximizing speed.
Gender Differences[]
Roadren have no gender differences.
Behavior[]
Roadren run across the desert at near supersonic speeds. They are competitive Pokémon, who enjoy challenging others to races. Few Pokémon can truly match the speed of Roadren, though it does not stop some from attempting to catch up anyway. Roadren are known for stirring up clouds of dust when they run. They use this to their advantage in battle, whipping up a sandstorm. Roadren's eyes are unbothered by the grit. This is because they have membranes over the eyes to protect them from the shifting sands.
Like most dragon-types, Roadren are difficult to domesticate. Catching one alone is difficult for most trainers. Roadren cannot be kept in enclosed spaces for long without getting restless. They need ample space to run, without crashing into walls, furniture, and other hindrances that come with a house. Because they are speed demons, little can be done to bribe or threaten them into behaving. Nevertheless, athletic trainers are fans of Roadren. Triathletes and cyclists in particular enjoy going for harrowing marathons in the desert with their Roadren.
Habitat[]
Roadren live in the desert. They prefer hot temperatures and flat ground, where they can run.
