Cole is the canon name of the male protagonist in Pokémon Umbra. His female counterpart is Cindy. If you choose to play as Cole, then Cindy doesn't exist in the Region.
Role
If Cole is selected as the player character, he starts his journey in Cadere Town in Vereshad. He is given one of the three Starter Pokémon of the Vereshad region by Professor Sakura. Cole goes on to gather the eight Badges from the Vereshad Region, beat the Pokémon League, and defeat his cousin to become the new Champion.
Background
A student who has recently finished school, growing up in the shadows of his cousin, he feels that his parents have been dismissive and otherwise neglectful of him. Thus, he moves out, and is in search of a way to make a living. With a little persuasion from Professor Sakura, he decides to finally make a name for himself and prove a point to their family, by starting his own Pokémon Journey.
